Awareness, Strategies and Action
Create understanding of the realities of the differing communications needs of those with sensory/cognitive disability/limitation, from diverse cultures &/ with low English literacy. Communications Stocktake including * Identification of audience segments & their information needs. * Inclusive communications audit. * Identify communications methods & technology used including social media. * Benchmark current practices & standards, identify opportunities to add value. * Review existing communications practices, channels & materials including style guides, in social media, print, on-line & audio. Consultation provide expert advice on * The concepts & methods needed to reach audiences with special information needs. * Integration of Inclusive (including accessible) communications activity alongside mainstream mass communications. * Advocacy & action for communications accessibility & inclusion. * Consumer leadership advocacy & advice Communications Strategy Development of strategy & plans that complement mainstream communications &/ marketing program delivery. Project Management * Implementation of sensory disability, multicultural &/ low english literacy communications activity. * Includes choice of communications methods, quality & consistent style management. * Application of assistive mass communications technologies &/ translations. * Liaise & manage services from specialist providers. |
Training and Upskiling
* Training needs audit & analysis * Delivery of communications training in a disability &/ multicultural context. * Develop training. * Cultural &/ disability awareness training. Audience Segment Campaigns * Development & implementation of audience specific communications &/ marketing campaigns. * Includes key messages, issues management, publicity, events, community engagement, media relations & social marketing. Resources and Collateral * Planning, writing, production & distribution of suitable resources, information & marketing materials. * Write plain english & advise on easy english. * Social media, web & other on-line content. * Style guides & internal communications. Media Relations conduct campaigns to * Media outlets targeting specific audiences such as multicultural, blind/low vision &/ with deaf /hard of hearing. * Social & other media on topics related to people with disability, from multicutural backgrounds &/ with low English literacy.
